we did it in N.H. but with MUCH smaller holes, made with an auger like 8-10" round. some of the set ups get pretty elaborate with heaters and such. driving on the lakes after the bars closed at 1am was a common event. 1 lake I lived on had car and motorcycle races, they would plow a track on it.

Ive always viewed ice fishing as absolute hard core. I would need good booze to stay warm :rockon

Fireball is wicked when ice fishing, keeps the inside real warm. We call it smelt snaps :toast

My accountant has told me stories of ice fishing with his brother up in Wisconson. They were sitting in this little shack on the ice and cars would be rolling by early in the morning, visibility about 0% due to drving wind and snow and nothing but a couple of reflectors stuck on the outside of the shed to stop them from being run over......ah the life...
