Headed out with Reelmojo yesterday. Hit the Gandy and fished with Gulp and docs goofy jigs at o-dark-30. By 2 pm we were outta there. Man it was hot. We had a great time though. The key was working those eddies and not staying in one place too long.
Once the tide changed and started ripping it got really hard to do anything. That's the Gandy for you. Fishing in the shade when you can sure beats the alternative.
The cobia was a first for me! It was not the right size so after the photo... back it went. We would have brought a few more pompano too... well.. If I had brought a net. :oops The pomp ReelMojo caught was a really good sized on and was caught on a fiddler crab on a jig head. To end the day.... Grilled Pompano and home made key lime pie!
