It was an 8-foot 7-inch bull shark. Josh was using a 12 ott Penn Senator reel, and 130 pound monofilament line. He was using a stingray as bait.
According to Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, bull sharks in that area are quite common this time of year.
10 Connects photographed Josh -- and the shark in his pickup truck -- later that day driving on 4th Street in St. Petersburg.

HAHA "12 ott" instead of "12/0" LOL Guess the "writer" ain't much on fishing reels.
Nice shark. Cannot wait to hit shark alley later this month and catch a few of my own.

I used to fish saint pete pier all the time... When i first moved here i loved it.. Then realized that catching sharks and stingrays and puffers suck.. now i actually know how to fish for what i want, and catch reds and snook!
