St. Petersburg, Florida -- The man who caught the shark seen in the back of a pickup truck this weekend has come forward.

He's Josh Lipert of St. Petersburg, and he caught the shark off the St. Pete Pier around 2 o'clock Saturday morning.

It was an 8-foot 7-inch bull shark. Josh was using a 12 ott Penn Senator reel, and 130 pound monofilament line. He was using a stingray as bait.

According to Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, bull sharks in that area are quite common this time of year.

10 Connects photographed Josh -- and the shark in his pickup truck -- later that day driving on 4th Street in St. Petersburg.
