1/7 surf report

Fished melbourne beach this morning from sun up till 1 pm. Tons of 12-15 inch blues all morning. Gannets were crashing bait/blues? starting about 500 yards out. Most of the time they were so thick you pulled in 2 at a time on a hi/low rig. Managed to catch about 20 before i switched over to pompano/whiting rigs on my little rods. Caught 5 nice whiting and 2 pompano. Sent a couple of those blues back out cut in half for sharks but no takers all day. Still need to find a spot i can fish at night. All the parking spots i saw said closed from dusk till dawn. 🙁
