I'm here in North Port and John1 is in Port Charlotte. We only have a small hand full of guy's down this way. You can find links to the SOUTH and SOUTH WEST WMA in this link.
http://myfwc.com/RECREATION/Hunt_WMABrochs.htm Got to look at the one's that are in your driving range and then see what the reg's. are. Most let you hog hunt in small game. If you have any questions don't be scared to ask. Someone will jump in and help.

Collier County here, Naples. Went on public land last year for the first time...Big Cypress. Saw some decent sign and a few does while scouting. Then, the next day set up and saw nothing for a day and a half...except for a deer carcass from the successful hunter there before us. Still new to hunting and not getting out regularly because I don't really know anyone who goes a lot down this way. I'd be up for going if I had someone relying on me to be there. When you go on your own, me anyway, it's just too easy to blow it off. Especially when you don't really know what to look for and where to set up.

Come next year when I know I will be able to hunt. We should do a get together for a hog trip in Mayakka or some place down your way. :toast
