if you were to hunt private land only, why would you need a wma permit? which costs more than the hunting license. I get what youre saying as I have a bunch of separate pieces of paper with different dates.
Well if you are hunting private land you do not have to have the WMA stamp. But if you fig. in all the stamps if you hunt bow,ML, gen. gun, deer, turkey, and any thing else. You are about at that $100 and then if some one want to meet up and hunt at a WMA you have to go get it.
and the quotas are free hunts if your drawn, a great deal for 100, that is what I got this year.
And I forgot to add that covers all your fishing.

Most tags are 5 bucks. The Sportsmans Gold is what I buy,you never know when you may hit a wma even if you primarily hunt private land. Fl has so much public land to hunt it's unreal,and most of them you stand a very good chance of getting something.That is where the confusion comes in I guess,all public lands "WMA's have different hunt dates and zones. Fl was always divided up into 3 zones with basically 3 different hunting seasons.This yr we went to 4 zones and it became more confusing. I actually hunted in the new Zone B a month early thinking it was still the same as last year. The WMA's did not change with private land dates this yr adding to the confusion. Best thing to do is figure out where in the state you would like to hunt, pick a WMA snd go on the FWC's website and read the rules and regs for hunt dates and what is legal to hunt. This late in the yr you may want to do a little small game hunting to learn an area for next year. Good Luck,you'll figure it out sooner or later.
