If you do any type of fishing, you are better off just paying the $100 and getting the Sportsman's Gold license. That covers everything to do with hunting and fishing(except Fed ducks), and you don't have to piece together licenses.

:clap This is one of the BEST, informative, a CLEAR posts I've seen yet! What a great 'shortcut' answer! :rockon
I had trapperdan's same questions! I don't fish all that much, but would like to do more. If I can do the $100 buy, that resolves a lot of issues!
Thanks!

Almost, you still cannot hunt quota hunts on wma's unless you are drawn.

Yes, your license is good for 1 year from date of purchase.
To be minimally legal, you need a hunting license, and a management area permit. If you hunt deer, you need a deer permit, if you archery hunt, you need an archery permit, if you ml hunt, you need a ml permit, if you turkey hunt, you need a turkey permit......See where I am going with this? So if you get the minimum licenses of what you need, then decide to do different things later...then you have a bunch of licensed expiring at different times.
And then if you decide to go fishing.......

Hence the reason I recommend getting the a Sportsman's license. It is cheaper in the long run, and much less hassle and worry

Thanks, I was pretty clear about the WMA-quota hunts. If I can get all the other stuff included in the $100, that's a lot of headaches out of the way.

if you were to hunt private land only, why would you need a wma permit? which costs more than the hunting license. I get what youre saying as I have a bunch of separate pieces of paper with different dates.
