i had a 10/22 22 WMR i sold to smyrna shooters in NSB for 250 i loved that gun but when it came down to having the gun or living in my truck i had to let her go i went back a couple of weeks later and they said they sold it the day after i sold it to them 🙁
Thanks, ya'll. Just the kind of info I was lookin for. Still torn between the Ruger and the Marlin. I'd like the Ruger, but not the price tag. Especially for a gun I'm gonna toss in the truck and tote back in the nasty stuff after hogs and what not. I've been looking for a while, and I can't find a single 10/22 in 22WMR anywhere used, or, should I say used at a price I'm willing to pay (under $300). And I can't find a single one in semi-auto new or used for anything under $500.
not to knock the 22 mag but, if your realy gonna be in the thick stuff where a hog could jump up between your feet I think something with a little more thump is in order, hard to beat a mossberg or rem870 for price, stopping power, and taking abuse, in smoothbore with slugs/buckshot or both. I'd like to be at least 30-50 feet away to shoot at a hog with a 22 mag especialy if it's a big boar.the 22wmrf is excelent for squirrels, rabbit and game to about 60 lbs give or take, imo, unless the perfect shot opportunity shows up and bullet placement would have to be precise.
I like using a Ruger 44 Mag Carbine for walking in the brush will drop a hog or deer with no issue also a good truck gun. Savage and Marlin are good rifles and hard to beat for the price.
I got all kinds of scatter guns and high powered rifles, but I want something a little more affordable for picking of the smaller critters. My 10/22 in 22 wmr works just fine out to 250-300 yds on wood chucks, crows, and squirrels, and yotes but I don't want to beat it up if the weather gets bad or if I have to crawl thru some of the thick stuff.
