walgreens and homedepot sell all the refills.
S.A., yeah it's realy simple, just pull out the nozzle on the butane cartridge, carefully without damaging the O-ring, they pull out easy. then take a new /sharp 3/32" drill bit put it in a vise if you have one and screw the inner latex/rubber looking part of the valve onto the drill bit and it will leave a nice big hole to fill with butane, just make sure to keep all the little pieces of latex out of the canister, they usualy stay on the drill bit. snap the nozzle back in place firmly by putiing it in by hand holding it upside down and pressing it against a hard surface, you can feel it snap in place and that should be it. I take it a step further and add a tiny ring of jb-qwik weld around where the brass meets the plastic to prevent any possible leaks. I've done 6 of them and each one has worked perfectly.then get a 4oz can of butane refill spray from a cigar shop or publics, just make sure you get one with an assortment of refill nozzles as only 1 will fit correctly and do not throw that away and your ready to go. just mark the canister at the level it came prefilled to, so you don't overfill, I use a ring of masking tape. it takes alot longer to explain than actualy do. I figure 3 re-fillable canisters are plenty. if you got extra pads I will trade a refillable cartridge ( full ) for pads if you want.
I aint sure how many pads I actually have, but if I refill my butane I'd imagine I'll be running short as well.I've looked all over for thermacell butane refills and could never find them.
the 2 waly worlds in bkvl and 1 in s.h. have the 1 btl of butane and 3 pads only for 6$ and change. I've heard some of them carry a 4 btl and 12 pad pkg for around 12-15$, but haven't been able to find them.
Have any of you tried breaking up the mosquito coils and using them in the Thermacell instead of pads? I've also read that some guys have had success with soaking used pads in Permethrin.
