mine arent either, but i love practicing trap with my single shot .410. i dont think dove hunting with a single shot would be that much fun. if it was a pump, auto, or even o/u i would hunt with it.

My first shotgun (still have it 34 years later!) was/is a single shot 20 ga Ithaca lever-action break. Got it when I was 10. We lived out in Tucson, AZ at the time, and my first hunt with it was for white-wing dove out in the desert by some water tanks. Those thirsty white-wings are some tough shooting, but only having one shot taught me to shoot pretty well. I killed 5 birds with 2 boxes of shells the first time out. We went and practiced some with clay pigeons and a hand thrower, and the next hunt I killed 10 with 2 boxes.

When I turned 15 my dad gave me my 12ga 870 Wingmaster for Christmas. We left the next day for San Antonio to hunt with some friends on their ranch south of there. The second afternoon there we went quail hunting, and a covey flushed and I shot once, and missed. Dad said,"Why didn't you shoot again?" and I answered,"I forgot I could!". Took a while to get used to having more than one shot, but once I did I think I shot 3 times at everything in the air!
