the one i got is a pain in the ass to put on.. remember allen.. i had to get up early to get geared up.. lol.. archery season last year...
I've found that the ones like that aren't too bad, but they are definitely an item to put on between layers. I don't always where mine, but when I do, I wear it between my inner layer and outer layer. Something's better than nuttin. The one that came with my Tree Lounge isn't too bad. It goes on pretty quick if I don't just take it off and toss it in the back of the truck. Just the extra 2 minutes to put it away right makes all the difference.
I am a huge fan of the Hunter safety System harnesses. However if I was going to buy a new one today it would be the
Rescue One CDS
i still use the harness that came with my summit climber. not to bad to put on, but i usually am in harnesses at work, up in high reaches. Have posted this before, but just remember with any harness to adjust the straps correctly, DO NOT leave the legs straps to loose. In a fall it is possible, (have seen pics from the OSHA report) for the legs straps to squeeze the "boys" and pop them right out of the sack. Also if you have a harness and you have fallen, replace it. only good for one fall.
I like to keep my tether very tight so I have room to sit and stand but no more. that way you can only drop a foot or 2 and not much bellow the seat level (well above the platform height), and be able to climb right back in. when climbing up and down I use the linemans belt, worst case scenario, you get a little scuffed up from lowering yourself down against the tree. but I don't go beyond 15'. that is a damm nice system but 6lbs and 200+$'s is a little rich for me.
