thats only in case of emergency right.. like a once in a life time use thing? i dont mean you can use it only one time but you probably would only need it once in a life time.

Yes, basically if you break your leg or something, you can push the distress button and it sends a distress signal to authorities with your GPS coords. You can also send a non emergency signal, like to your wife "Im alright"
Also you load the software on your home computer and someone at home can track your movement.
I had heard some reports where some guys tried them out and not all the signals went thru. If I am hanging in my treestand I don't want that to be the time it doesnt work

it should work everywhere.. i mean thats the reason for having it right?
