OK So now we know there is a possible problem with these guns. So now it is up to us to do the responsible thing and either send them to the factory and have them checked or have a after market trigger installed so that we don't end up in this 1%. I don't think any one was bashing remington on here, some people like ford and some like chevy. Don't realy care just have your guns checked for your safty and every one else. I shoot savage because I'm left handed and and like the price verses the rest. My hunting buddy was at our range last year and his 700 in 243 went off when he moved the safty to the off position, good thing it was pointed down range. He is having it fixed by remington. So stop beating your chest and man up and have them checked out.

Right, Rem has been hiding the truth for years according to their own admissions, so get the gun checked out, I am betting they may do it free for you...OR..have your heirs sue them when it happens to you...The 700 is a great gun, so have it checked out and fixed, then no worries!
those guys from field and stream, YA think remington might be one of their sponsors? don't know who to believe. but any machine can have a breakdown, doesn't mean it's a bad product. better to err on the side of caution/safety.
Just saw this and thought I'd pass it along.
