I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk Stainless in .44 Mag with a 4 5/8" barrel with open sights and the noise/recoil aren't too bad, it's controlable, shootable and accurate out to around 75 yards.

The .41 Mag is a good caliber, it's just to bad it never gained much popularity!

years ago I had a model 57 with the 8" barrel. out performed my model 29 . accuracy, downrange muzzle velocity and knockdown power. sorry I ever sold that gun. you will be impressed with it.
