I was in the Land o Lakes Wal Mart this afternoon. The had all the hunting boots out on a table in the middle of the aisle with a clearance sign. I saw it the other day, but didn't really pay any mind to it. Today I walked over there and ended up walking out with this pair. They are normally like $79, marked down several times to $25
Herman Survivor's are a brand that really don't get the recognition they deserve. My dad had a pair of leather ones he wore for probably 25 years. I have a pair very similar to these I have had for probably 10 years and I wear the crap out of them. Still waterproof as the day I bought them, and as comfortable if not more so than my Nike Air's... I stood in the middle of the Hills river in a WMA a few weeks back and they never leaked a drop. I figure now since I don't wear sorry azz snake boots anymore I won't have to buy boots again till I am in my 50's (other than a pair of rubber boots now and then)

I remember wearing herman survivors in the mid 70's from an outlet, if not made in Brattleborough Vt. good on you. I've been laid up with big 1.5x2" blisters on the ball of each foot since sat. hope to be able to get a sneaker on today. walked app 6+ miles each time 3 days last week during homosassas hog quota, same boots same socks each time had problems the whole day last visit. stopped to air and ice and change socks at 9am, moleskins at 11am and 4-5 mi from truck. had the boots for years but it was a bit warm the last day and maybe it was the length of stride or pace was different. never had a blister problem before. glad it was just a local hunt as it would have ruined an out of town trip. probably should have stopped as soon as I realized I had a problem and road hunted from the truck. sounds trivial but is realy nothing to mess around with. should start a separate thread on blisters I suppose. I'll try and send pics to Alan to post for me if anyone is interested. gunboy found a 5 point very cool shed,very dark at base and hooked point at end, if he found the other it would have made an awesome mount. only game we saw was turkey. post a pic Rob.
