hey crock i would get one only if you plan to do a lot of shooting at the range. or if you are developing a flinch from recoil. like others have said it makes them louder but you could also get a plain or knurled end along with the brake and use it for hunting just like a regular barrel i know a guy in st.pete that did mine does a good job.
how much was it? i would want one regular and one ported so i can switch the up.
06 isn't that bad. if you really want to do something--go with the recoil pad. bedding the stock would help alot with accuracy. if you really want to do it (muzzle brake) the best guy i know of is located in Fort Meade. on 17 south of bartow. he is an old man, but does excellent work. few guys in camp have had their 300s done there.

yep, will contact him tomorrow. the old man gunsmith is the same guy that will sight in rifles for you. he shoots 1 shot makes any adjustments and waits until the next day to shoot again. only 1 shot per day. every shot is a cold bore shot. kinda weird, but people let him do it and they are right on.
