Does anyone use one with sticks?
How much do they weigh?
does someone in the springhill area use one that I could test and ask some questions?
i have used the climbing sticks, worked pretty well, easy to pack in and out.
I used to use api climbing stiks, square tubes with 2 steps on the same level at each rung, this way with a linemans belt on your harness you could stand comfortably with both feet at the same level and work on setting the stand with both hands free. you can also offset each section to accomodate different tree shapes. they come with 1 wratchet strap per section, a second wratchet per section is a good backup plan and could even hang them independant of each other. I like having some lower branches (better with leaves on them) bellow me to help hide me and it doesn't really block your view with a gun, bow maybe a little if the game is directly below you. 15' is generaly plenty good for visability if you can breakup/hide your outline with branches below/above or around you. especialy with sticks though a good safety harness is an absolute must have. if on public land you can carry out the lower sections and leave the stand and highest section there. but as always if someone really wants it???
