Ill just go buy a new one, put the old one in the new box, and go return it for a refund
did it :rockon
i bought the d40 about 6 months ago and it has worked great up until a month ago... it takes pictures during the day but it has no flash at night time anymore. I also used to have deer on it all the time and now im not getting much pictures of anything anymore and the corn is magically gone from the ground! oh well i think this year i will be looking to buy the camera that sends the picture straight to your cell phone or online has anyone used those cameras yet?
at least 1500 bucks and thats just to start.

looked into them. moultries deal isn't so bad. checked their cell provider and packages for sending pics. not to unreseanable. pics get sent to moultrie web page. log in and get your pics.
Had an issue with my cam today (wouldn't go to auto mode) So I called moultrie and the tech there helped me fix it over the phone. It was just a bad card that was screwing up my cam. I also brought up my other cam that was having some issues with the screen. He asked if I thought I could replace the screen if he sent me one, i said yes and he put one in the mail. :rockon I've heard so much bad stuff about the customer service of this company, but they were very helpful and more then happy to fix any and all of my issues. None of my cams are registered nor did he even ask. A+++ to Moultrie and their customer service. :cheers
Just goes to show that all that really matters is who you get on the phone when you call customer service.
