these are 300 grain, polymer tipped. anyone try them, what do you think? I use a benneli sbe with rifled bbl and leupold 1x4 scope and was able to get 3" groups at 100 with the federal prem with barnes expander/sabot, but that was over 6 yrs ago. I'm down to my last 5 shells and can't find more localy. I was able to get 10 rounds of the sst's for $17 for 5 rounds, and I'm having sticker shock.
SST slugs have proven themselves here we have used them and found they are very accurate and when placed correct they kill. The guns we have shot them in are HR single 20 ga and 12 ga, mossy 500,835,rem 870,marlin 512!As stated site them in as on box and we had little to no difference and very good out to 150 to 190 yards.
The singles shot with the best groupings then the mossy 835 and 500 with cantilevered bbl marlin did great also and the 870 did ok.The ranges fired at were from 100 to 200 yards at target range and kills had been taken to 190 yards.
Try the Sportsmans Attic on US 19 in Springhill, they had tons of Sabot last year when I went in there. Right across from hooters.
sportsmens attic was my first, and closest stop, they were out. I found the sst's at ace hardware in crystal river and the price was 13$ a box of five ( not 17$). I've only got 10 rounds , I think I can zero in at 50 yds with 5 if lucky and have 5 to hunt with, don't think I can zero in at 100 with 5 rounds.
$17.00 for 5 :eek I'll stick to my very cheap winchester slugs. 😆
