this is gonna be going on a ford crown vic, not a 4x4, so it won't be going anywhere too crazy, unless someday I also get a hitch on my pu also. what I'm getting so far is if I have the 1 1/4" receiver that it won't hold more than 350#'s even if you adapt it to 2", is that right? think I'll be checking out harbor freight in new port richey or tractor supply. thanks for the input guys.
why would you want that on a vehicle that cant make it to the spot to even pick up what you shot? lol what you just trying to carry a cooler and pair of slax on the back? lol
O.K., cuz I'm whipped. used to drive a perfectly good toyota t-100 4x4 that was great for hunting, but when I switched with the old lady for better mileage, she don't wanna trade back and the few times she lets me drive it, it comes back muddy/bloody and no gas or get a speeding ticket or in an accident that's why. plus I got the 1 1/4" hitch for the crown vic for free and I am as tight as a ducks azz with my $$. if anyone has a nice heavy duty 2" hitch for a t-100 they would like to give away I'll put that one on also, but for now it is what it is.
The 1 1/4" will be fine for a hitch hauler. Remember, if you put 500# on it, there is not really 500# on the hauler. The suspension of the vehicle supports some of the weight. It is actually probably half of that. You aint gonna kill a hog big enough to break a hitch hauler
I would just do it or not depending on what you want to do...If you have no other choice, buy the cheapest you can and deal with it...you still have to get the hitch installed, hope it it for that particular model and car, do that first before buying anything.
that's what I figured all along but I'm just sittin back collectin everyones 2 cents, should pay for the cheapo brand hauler, lol.
