my last post about the .270. i have researched this morning most all factory ammo manufacturers. comparing .270 to 30-06. not as easy as i thought. the amount of manufacturers that load the same grain bullets in both calibers is slim. there was just a few. and from what i see, it is a toss up. very close. there does seem to be some difference in the actual bullet. certain types of bullets do better for the 06, where other bullets do better for the 270. what does this mean, nothing. i still won't take a 270 out west, other than black tail, when there are so many other calibers that are better suited for the job. IMO
people that are really into fishing don't have only one rod and reel, and you don't play golf with one club. so I think the same holds true for hunting. I am fortunate to have collected ( 5- rifles, 5- shotguns, 10 handguns ) for any specific situation I may come across: rain, sun, close, far, heavy brush, wide open, scoped, not scoped, heavy/long barreled, light/short barreled. many think it's overkill and I'm obssessed, guilty as charged. theres plenty more I'd like to have if money permitted.and all are based on my personell prefferences, and everyones are different so I apologise to all If I've been pushing my point of view on anyone. you know what they say about opinions, there like a-holes, everyone has one and they all stink.
let's get back on topic. go and check out some scopes. look through them and then make the decision. that would be best. online you can find some deals, but being somewhat new to the game (as far as scope selection goes) the more you can look at, and look through the better info you will have to make the decision for what is gonna work for you the best.

Thats what im going to plan on doing, thank you..Im really intrested in the Bushnell 3200 and the Nikon Buckmaster and prostaff.
them are all good scopes. compare the 40mm to 50 mm and you will really see a difference. will just need higher rings if you go to a 50mm scope. just remember to mount it as close to barrel you can get it WITHOUT it touching. i put the flip up caps on my scopes, have to account for them when mounting your scope.
