I was looking back at some old posts and came across 9dawgs hunting buggy. It got me to start searching for golf carts online. I would like to hear some opinions on using them at hunt camp. My boss has an electric one on his ranch and loves riding around, photography is a hobby of his and he likes sneaking up on the wildlife with it. To me gas would seem better but what about the noise of the engine? I would be dealing with well defined roads and logging roads that are somewhat mowed from time to time. Will electric models push the larger off road tires models that have been lifted? Seems like a cost effective way to get down some of those logging roads without scratching up my truck.
Gas would be better for going offroad imo. More torque but you can get a high torque electric motor which would be much quieter going to the stand. Steep hilly land I would use gas for sure.
Gas. And the engines are on demand. Ie, only run when you push the gas pedal

Yep, I'd say gas. I've taken mine through all kinds of crap and it gets through. I've even been conceptualizing a snorkel setup that would allow me to wade through some pretty deep water. As it is now the breather intake is right under the passenger seat. Nothing crazy mind you but at least up to the top of the gas pedal. You couldn't do that with an electric cart without some major issures.
I've hauled a lot of deer out of the woods with mine, corn back and forth to the feeders, hunters (seats 5) to and from their stands. Always starts and as long as I have gas in it it will run much longer than an electric on a full charge would. It's an awesome tool to have around the hunt camp. :rockon Plus it's just plain fun to drive.
I used to use propane powered forklifts and don't recall them being very noisy at all.
