What's the "philosophy" of having the unguarded trigger?

Yea i didnt get the ( revolver kit) im going to sew a leather guard on it.

as long as the hammer is held down by the strap, the unprotected trigger should be OK. just don't leave the gun in the leather when not actively being used as the leather absorbs salt from sweat/water, holds moisture and can even pit stainless in time, same with knives.
