its a very good round. i know a bunch of people who have them. one of my co-workers used nothing but his .243 for years, now he mostly uses his .270 short mag. occasionally he brings the .243 out of the safe. a lot of youths and women shoot the .243. i use a .25-06 and a .308. ill probably get a .243 next and give it to my son when he is old enough.
I really wanted a 7mm-08. I have shot my buddies and studied the ballistics on it quite a bit. It may be the perfect deer round

A good friend of mine shot a 30-06 for years and bought a 25-06 for his wife
He ended up selling the 30- and kept the 25- for himself. That is a sweet caliber too
i love it. a friend of mine and his father in law both hunt with it and they kept going on and on about how great they thought it was. ben told me every hog he has ever shot and every deer he has ever shot with it has dropped. he takes almost exclusively head shots. i shot his, liked it, bought one, first deer i shot dropped in its tracks, second deer fell too. i have only had it for 3 years. it is a flat shooting gun. rounds for it are not as common in the stores as the .30-06's but you can get them at gun shops, never seen them at walmart or anything like that.

I know he couldnt find the federal power shocks and picked up the fusions. He lost 2 hogs this year with them
Of course I almost lost 2 deer with fusions in my 7mm. They are a sorry bullet
