did you get a kicker to go with that radio
Good setup Crock1. I traded off my Superstar CB and 250 watt linear several years ago seeing as nearly every crew in our woods hunted on ham radios. I have a Icom 2200h ham radio and it has 60 watts out of the box but is similar in size to a Tristar 120. I can walk out to my truck from my house and communicate to mostly anyone I want to in the closer half of my club or 3 rivers, plus no skip. We have purchased channels as the FCC has been riding with the FWC checking hunters in the woods.
gotta admit I don't know squat about radios, but knew a few ham operators that could talk to people around the world, but they had huge antenna towers next to their houses. could never understand how you got enough reception to do it from a car/truck.
