I need some advice on picking out a pair of binoculars. Small and compact something i can belt carry or have around my neck.

I like animals, they are tasty!

Actually....
The Nikon's they sell at Wal Mart for $99 are very good. I think they are called Action sport , and they are 8x40. Me and a few friend have them and are happy. whatever you get, get a set of over-the-shoulder straps for them. They are worth every penny getting the strap off your neck

I put it off for years and the set of leupolds acadias are the best thing I ever purchased. They go every time I go to the woods.

Gander Mountain online has the Leupold Yosemite 6x30's on sale for 79.99 I ordered a pair and couldn't be happier with them.
