I've had many over the last 30+ years, currently own 3 in 12 ga. they will put game on the table, many xtras available. not made of the finest quality materials or craftsmanship, but will get the job done just fine. the recievers are soft aluminum alloy and scratch easily. only malfunction I've had is the tang safety is made of plastic and cracked in the cold and had to be replaced (free), no biggie. the militery uses the model 590 style that has an all steel safety and trigger guard. the 835 mdl can handle 3 1/2 inch shells ( which I don't realy have a use for, 3" are plenty for me),but getting a rifled slug bbl for an 835 is $$$. I'll always have at least one as a loaner or if I plan on realy abusing the firearm.
I don't personally like the way they fit me, but they are dependable and accurate, and many people swear by them. It's a great gun to get for just getting into hunting, as there is so much versatility (slug, black-powder, and choked barrels for buckshot or bird shooting).
Thanks guys!
