Set up my first Game Camera. Super excited when I picked it up, pic count said full. Opened it up and there were ants all in it. Ants triggered 1700 pics. Has anyone ever had this problem. It's like the ants made a home in my camera. Is there something I can do to prevent this. Of the 1700 pics I scrolled trhough I did manage to get about ten pics of some does.

Hmmm, bummer. I still don't have a game camera set up but if I did and had this problem I'd try to locate where they are coming from and get rid of the ant bed. Amdro is a good product to use and it doesn't give off a smell like a spray would. I use it in my yard sometimes on fire ant hills and it works well. I don't think you'd spread enough around there to have any effect on the wildlife. Just my 2 cents.
If ants are getting in I would bet you will have moisture problems in your future. I would find the source and add some silicone sealant to plug the hole.
the problem is that you most likely had the camera in a sunny location and ant's love those sunny hot spots. try a shadier spot.
Hope this helps.
had ants in the battery and 2" of moldy black corn in the bottom of the bbl. luckily I had bee killer with me. spent a lot longer than planned to clean, replace batteries and fill and set up camera. sweat buckets.
