If you are going to push past 62 grains, I understand you need to have atleast a 1x8 or 1x7 twist rate in the barrel. I have heard and seen great results from the Barnes and Fusion mentioned above. My sisters boyfriend swears by the Winchester 64 grain power point for his AR. I am going to try all of these rounds including the 75 grain BTHP by Hornady which I seen good reviews on as well. I do have a 1 x 7 twist rate though.

your twist rate of the barrel is gonna help to determine where to start with ammo selection. the 1in9 twist is very forgiving. I started shooting 46 grn Hollow points. they shot well. shot some other weights , but ended up sticking with the 62 grn fusions. would not go much heavier in a 1 in 9 twist. your 1 in 7 and 1 in 8 can stabilize a heavier bullet better than the faster twist rates (1 in 10 , 1 in 11 ) Ammo for the .223 is cheap enough, get a couple boxes of different types and weights and let the rifle tell you what shoots the best. As iluv2hunt said " shot placement is key" .. with both my set-ups my rifles will shoot 1/2" groups at 100 yds . the silencer i am waiting on should tighten that up even more.
