I want to use my ar15 and was wondering what ammo u guys use to hunt deer and hogs with.

never used one myself, but you cannot use full metal jacketed rounds. use the heaviest grain round you can, maybe 75 grain hollow point. and make sure you take care in your shot placement.

I bought soft point rounds, havent used them yet. They are kinda on the expensive side. I got a box 20rnd of 7.62x39 for 25 dollars, and a 8mm mauser box 20 rnd 30 dollars. Legal to use on public land.

Barrel length and twist rate are gonna determine what bullet you can shoot. Heavier is not necessarily better. AR's are very load sensitive. I am a Barnes x bullet fan, and my gun loves the 55gr tsx. Scott shoots the 62gr Federal Fusion with outstanding results
