The stock has a scratch and was starting to crack so I went ahead and had it fiber glass bedded to keep it from worsening and actually forming a noticable crack. It appeared that he action wasn't properly fitted to the stock from the factory when it was made 30 plus years ago. The scratch/crack isn't even noticable and it won't get any worse now, I can assure that.
Bottom line is I have too many hunting guns. I've got 9 hunting rifles now between bolts, levers and a pump and three more that belong to my step son and wife which makes an even dozen. I have been diversifying with black guns, AKs, paramilitary and a few hand guns, so one of the "hunting guns" has to go.
This one will make someone a great hunting rifle!!!

i have seen a few bolt action 30-30s. they are much easier for an above average size man to shoot than the lever guns. got rid of my winchester because my hand did not fit the trigger guard. wish i had 375 clams. nice gun.
Remington made the Model 788 Bolt Action for a few years in .30-30 also, but not many....
Bump. Come on... I've got a guy who wants to trade me for a Remmy 1100 12 gauge Tournament Trap Gun 30 VR Full down in Fort Meyers, but that's a 6 hr round trip drive from Tampa by the time we meet up and do it... I told him I would but it won't be for a week or two...
Any offers over $350? Maybe a trade? I'd like the Trap gun but don't want to do the 6 hr drive....
