Yeah you're probably right. I meant for them to be used in sinker molds.

About 15 years ago I had a friend who used wheel weights to make his reload ammo. He was into the double-tap and bowling pin competitions. I bought over 1000 rounds of 9mm from him and never had a problem.

I've been using wheel weights for 10 years and haven't had a problem . just add about 1 lb alum to 10 lb wheel weights and you will be fine, be sure to melt the wheel weights and skimm the junk off the top to get it the cleanest you can... E-Bay has lead for sale also... Tire shops are getting tight with the old weights they sell it to scrap for good money

I heard that about the adding tin to the lead. I am going to see if some junk yards want to "donate" some to my cause too. Its just for me so 20 pounds goes a long way.

For those who asked how much I am pming you direct. You guys are awesome!

Regular clip-on weights for autos have tin and antimony in them already..
Watch out for the zinc ones...

The sticky weights, are pure lead. use them for casting weights and Blackpowder rounds.

I worked at a tireshop recently...alot of shops wont give out weights anymore...the battery companies have contracts with them.
