you really waited for the last minute. plus the Obama panic, you're gonna get raped by retail stores. at this point I'd look at any private sales you find a good deal on a used gun already set up with a scope (if you want one) and be more flexible with calibers if you find a sweet deal on another gun of other caliber that will work just fine. ex: 243,25-06,260,7mm08,308,30-30,35,270, as well as your 30-06. my 2cents.
Here you go and it won't last long. A Winchester Model 70 Synthetic in .30-06 for $300 would be worth a day trip to Jacksonville to get that one in my opinion.
good deal, but you're still gonna have to mount and sight in a scope. better bounce to the nearest atm and get on the road. stuff is gonna start flying off the shelves once again. If I owned a store I think I'd close and go on vacation for a few weeks and let the panic peak, then sell high like a MF'r.
