if you already have the mdl 700 in 270 I'd pass for a open sighted lever or shotgun, 2 of basicly the same caliber is a bit redundant.

Unless you're gonna load it with 200's or 220's and use it for a boosh gun then id say too much overlap... (with 200's its pretty close ballistically to my. 338 federale which lays down a serious whooping inside a hundred and fifty yards or so....)
