I drop a rope on the hog and tie off then crawl in or drop them in their tracks. I also have a catch pole that tightens up on a leg and lift up and over or pull thru gate.
I usually just rope their head and hold em' till I can get ahold of a back leg, this trap just has a funny door is all.My big ass aint going thru it,looks like it will ctch em' good enough,it's just getting them out.
Catch and feed...and feed...and feed...and shoot.
I fed two out last summer, they just don't grow like a durock or any farm ho does. They eat better but they just take forever to grow. I'd really like to get a domestic wild cross.
Most of em up by us are just that. The sow and her 9 little ones at my in-laws aren't trapped up, but they are out at the feeder at 8am and 5:30pm sharp waiting for the feeder to go off. Had to increase the run time so the deer have something to eat. Mostly corn, but by adding some higher protein grain feed to the mix, they seem to be sizing up nice.
