Wanted to get opinions on recommended hog rifles and calibers for walk and stalk hog hunting. I have a few different rifle models, actions, and calibers I use for hog walk and stalk hunting but was thinking about a Marlin Guide Gun in 45-70. I have a 44 Magnum carbine but distance and velocity-knock down power can sometimes be an issue, also have a 7.62x39 carbine and to me the round seems a bit light for 150LB plus hogs. Have a friend who swears by the 450 Marlin Guide Gun, but it recoils terribly. What do you use and do you think the 45-70 is over kill for hogs in FL and GA?
