I need this gun gone asap. It is immaculate besides a scratch on the stock. Leupold mounts and a Nikon 3x9x50 scope. It's accurate and dependable, just a little too heavy and pretty to be a dog hunter's rifle. $700
I can post several more images of the rifle once I get home this afternoon.
I'd have to check with my chiropractor before shooting that thing...
It's actually heavy enough that I can't notice the difference in the recoil between this gun and my 308 bar. My brother has the same gun with the BOSS and it's 5x louder than mine. I'm going to the 300 wsm short trac for dog running or I would keep it. I looked at the short trac 325 wsm also, now that gun should have a little recoil lol
I would think the BAR in 308 (with the right bullet) would be just the ticket, and save some wt and recoil. that combo with good placement should drop anything in this state in it's tracks, plus you already own one. the wsm's are awesome stoppers but tend to jelly a lot of meat and ammo is expensive, an 06 may be a good compromise. I'm sure you know what you want/need. those are beautiful guns in any caliber, the 06's I've used have amazing accuracy and you are correct, recoil isn't too bad.
The gun is sold.
Nacho- the 308 bar is a great gun. I shot two different 308 bars up until this past year and loved them both. One of them is a 30+ yr old gem that will still cycle the rounds as if it came off the factory line. I just have wanted a 300wsm w/ synthetic stock in camo since they first came out... and now I will have one soon!
