I would say it would fit. at worst it might have to be tweaked at the factory so the trigger mechanism & firing pin matches up to your rifle. that's how it was done when I bought the bbl less than 6 months ago. buy the bbl, ship your stock/action to H&R, they fit the new bbl to the gun for a fee, then another fee to ship it back. this bbl only has app 60 rounds thru it. and the 243 is a great caliber. a good thing about the H&R's is you can have several different caliber bbl.'s including shotgun. the 40xb is the match/varmint style and looks/carries like a normal hunting bolt action, wt in the 7-8 lb range. the 40 xbr's (bench rest) have bull bbl.'s, benchrest stocks and weigh app 13 lbs. the 25x Leupold scope I can practically read a book with it @ 100 yd's.
Nacho, did you ship the action & barrel back to H&R directly yourself? I called H&R yesterday to look into it and they believe because my ultraslug and your .243 are both bull barrels it should work. However when I started talking about shipping the gun back for a fitting he tried to put me off onto a gunsmith around here or one of their "preferred" gunsmiths, the closet one was in KY.
the bbl I bought from them, so I only had to ship them the stock/trigger section. it's not a big job, if needed at all but there turn around time was fast compared to some of these local guys.
