Got news today from one of my buddies that was gonna get on our new lease. He has some family issues and won't be able to commit to the lease this year. Talked to the lease holder about it and he was already short 1 but was gonna leave it like that anyways. He's giving us 1st shot at filling 1 or 2 spots so I thought I'd pass it along. 3000 acres, deer, a few hogs, turkey. It's in Sanderson off I-10. No electric but has a camp generator for camphouse with well. 6 or better with the smallest last year a 7. Butts up against Osceola Forest. $1550 per year. If anyones interested let me know and I'll pass along his #.
You did not mention Bears, I know there are alot in the forest, what about your lease? I used to hunt the south side of 90 across from the forest, there were some nice bucks up there..My dad is still in that lease and killed a 12 point last year..
Forgot about bears. 😆 This will be my 1st year on this lease. They only feed soybean and said there was only 1 bear sighted last year but I can't say. I'm hoping not to have to deal with any seeing how I'm trying to get away from them on the last lease. 😆 We're just north of 90.

You know all this talk about bears, I have lived in FL all my life and hunted the majority of it and have yet to see a damn bear in the wild. My buddies saw a sow and some cubs when we hunted over by Clewiston one year but that is it. Maybe one day I will be fortunate and see one of these guys.
Be careful what you wish for. If you hunt on a property with bears you will get tired of them quick. They are not dumb and you will rarely see them,but put out corn and a trail camera and you will see them definately.
