I am wanting to form a small club for friends and family. It would be 4 - 6 hunters in size. Would like to have a 400 to 600 acre lease in the N.E. Florida area (Clay, Duval, Bradford, Baker, St. Johns counties). I am looking at this for the 2015/2016 season. We don't need any amenities other than the accessible property itself. I think you have the right attitude, and are doing the right thing by starting your search now. If I wasnt in a nice little laid back lease, I would do the same thing. Have done it in the past.
I would start with the timber companies.

Foley timber and St Joe also, but they are much more West of where you are looking. I would also not rule out So Georgia from your search
