im looking for a hunting lease within 2 hours of orlando. something i can hunt all year for hogs and then deer,turkey and small game in season.let me know if you have or know of anything . i tried the morman leases west of o-town but they want like $4,000 a year and have a ton or restrictions. Ive seen a bunch further north but ide get more use out of it if it were closer.
You want hunt hogs year round. Well if you find a place I don't think the hunting will be that good. The game will be spooked all the time. I have been in some and the deer hunting was not that good. These guys hunt all night. The club next to mine hunt hogs all year I think. The Big Horn Club is the name. You can look in woods and water, they are looking for members every year, wonder why. Most of the land owners don't like the year round hunting. Its a liabilty thing.
Thanks for the tips. i never really thought about the pressure on game if theres year round hunting . to be honest , im really looking for a place to hog and turkey hunt.I have 350 acres in upstate NY and go up every year to get my deer fill. Ill be up there in nov. i really want a place i can go the rest of the year down here and get my hog on...I guess thats why im not willing to shell out 4 grand for a property that has benn QDM'ed for the last 15 years.Although it is worth it, its not what im looking for.
I was in orange creek last year. Rodney and those guys are all rite they put the dogs to the place hard. I shot a five and saw some bigger ones also. I had feeders in there and the bears are big and hungry for corn. There are a few hogs in there also.
I'm also looking for a lease for deer, turkey, and hogs. Last year's club disolved w/o notice, and my dad, father in law, and I got left out in the cold. We're in the Orlando area, so someplace w/in 3-4 hours would be great. Past leases have been in the NW FL zone. Most local clubs want 1K or more. I'm looking to have to deal with my standard 5 hour drive to NW WMAs this year to hunt if I don't find something closer (which would make the wife and my bank account much happier).
