How much land do you think you need to hunt? I want to buy a piece of land but unsure how much to buy. I was going to buy land that borders a preserve or a WMA.
you can have a half acre.. If it butts up to a million acres!
Id say id be happy with 100 acres but can live with 10.
If you get something that "butts up" to ocala national forest. Or one of those plots they got for sale right in chazz its win win. i think they want like 999.000 for like a 1 acre... sucks.. but it butts up to chazz.
I looked at a small plot that butts right up to WMA land and being that it is a sweet spot.Also I do think for ideal situation it would be 5 acres now that I have looked at one that is just that 5 acres,lol.
40 is ideal if you are going to live on it, just depends on what you want and what is around it.

Now as far as hunting , I have taken some nice deer off a one acre track that backed up to private land, it was a piece that the deer used to cross to a clear cut across a dirt road. A lot has to do with what's on the land like food , bedding area and so on. You can make it work.
