I have a 2001 with the off road pkg - super cab (reverse doors), flare side.
I've been nothing but happy since getting mine back in '03 w/36k miles on it. It now has 111k miles. Only issue I had was replacing a couple of coil packs after having it a couple of years, but I read that it was a common thing.
It will pull a camper fine. My dad (the frequent RV'er) ensures me he sees them pull into camps all the time pulling 28-30 footers. Watch the weight.
Also, pay attention to the tires on your truck if pulling a camper, make sure they are the correct "ply". Whatever it may need to be........ Good luck!
I've got a 2004 f150 fx4 with the 5.4. Only problem I had was changing the sparkplugs they have a crappy 2 piece design on the 04 and up 5.4s , broke 5 of them off in the head was a real pain in the azz getting them out.
The key to pulling a trailer is balancing your weight. Too much tongue weight, and you can't get out of your own way. Too little, and the trailer will sway all over the road
Well i'm not going to get the one in the picture, a friend suggested i run a carfax, well got to find out it shows the it was in a accident and was rolled over and repaired,, so i guess i will keep looking, he is in atlanta at a car auction right now looking at another one and will let me know tomorrow.... well lord willing and the creek don't rise it will work out :angel
I think my 4.6 has 280 but with the Bully Dog system I have extra 30hp,70hp or 100hp to choose from along with all the other great stuff it does.It also increased my milage average 16-18 mpg
lol, you're so full of shit it's funny.
Your 2005 F150 4.6L was only rated at 231 hp from the factory.....google it. XTR is only a graphics package...nothing more.
Bully Dog may add that much horsepower on a DIESEL, but nothing even remotely close on a gas engine, especially the anemic 4.6L that came in the F150's. Even BullyDog themselves only claims 10-30 hp increase, depending on which level you choose. Check it out yourself: http://www.bullydog.com/documents/40410%20GT%20Gas%20product%20info%20sheet%205.0.pdf
So, BEST case scenario = 231 Stock HP + 30 hp = 261 hp.
Of course we all know that if BullyDog is claiming 10-30 hp, real world increase is at best 1/2 that....so 5-15 hp.
