Here in S. FL. I'm surrounded by oaks at home & there's a few around work that I usually see acorns on. Absolutely none this year so far...well, two- on one tree but looking real dismal this year compared to last years massive bumper crop. I remember seeing a few more in Ocala last month but not a lot. What are Y'all seeing out there? How about posting up some regional acorn info.
Last year I could not find a live oak anywhere on my lease with acorns. None. I got told I was crazy, or blind. But I looked at probably 200 trees and could not find any. The water oaks dropped literally from bow season till the end of gun season. I spent a mini fortune in late January fertilizing oak trees. I hope it pays off and I believe it already is. This live oak is dropping and the ground is polished under it.
Also the oaks here at home are already dropping. Seems a lot earlier than they usually do
I have 4 in the front yard that are just starting to drop a small amount
Im in south florida as well....just got in from the woods, and the acorns I seen are very small...nothing dropping yet.
