Many of the WMA's I hunt are truly just laid out in large "blocks" with a road on just about all sides of wherever it is your walking...you might have to walk a pretty good ways but eventually you'll hit a road. There aren't many places anymore where you can just wander off and get so lost that you are never heard from again....

I don't know BPS, maybe not so many hunters as children and elerly we hear about lost all the time and frequently found less than a mile from where last seen. and how about that hunter in the glades last year (near the hwy) a hoax ya think or just a dumbazz?

Well I thought we were having a talk about getting lost in the context of hutning public land....

Yes, a 5 yr old could get lost in Green Swamp never to return and an 80 year old blue haired yankee too for that matter. But for most able bodied, red blooded American adult males it shouldn't be a scary thing to go walk in the woods of Florida and not have a pocketful of bright colored plastic to tie on every low hanging limb and bush along their path.

well indeed we were but when has that stopped us from going off topic a mite. trust me I'm no fan of orange ribbon either but no call for YANKEE bashing , you redneck toe jam pickin hick, just kidding. "that's a joke son"
