In those pics ILUV2hunt posted, we took a hatchet and made a half-azzed rub on a tree right in front of one of our buddies stand on our old lease in GA, he wasn't really experienced but thought he knew everything. He told us later that he was in a good spot because there was ahuge buck rub right in front of his stand...we just kept quiet. Kind of felt bad but what do you do.

We had a guy take off "scouting" on his big Polaris 4 wheeler through some heavy brush and saplings. He came back later telling us how he'd found an area eat up with rubs. Come to find out he'd meandered around and come back across the trail he'd made an hour earlier, and those "rubs" were from his 4 wheeler! He lasted half a season before we kicked him out.
Could be a lightening strike.
Looks like scuffs from a dozer or some other heavy equip, then the tree rats went after it.
