Out of the blue this morning I called the man who runs the lease I was in a couple years ago. I called him, said he had a few openings, told me to come to his house and we would ride out there. He showed me some areas that noone was hunting. Kinda some off the wall places that most would overlook, and aren't mapped very well on the lease map. Beautiful hardwoods and a mix of terrain with grown up cutdowns that I like to hunt, and big ole live oaks that are deer/hog magnets. Told him I had seen enough, and I didn't even need to ride to the North end of the lease. I gave him a check, got my key, sticker and lease info.
Spent the afternoon wearing out some boot leather, picking out my spots, and marking them. Next trip, stands and feeder erecting...
