I'd let you borrow mine if you were closer,or I'll bring my extra one and go with ya. I love BP hunting.
My omega will poke his azz at 200 yards or so with 150 grains.
Good luck! Another week or 2 and the rest of us will be able to help run the score up!
Good luck boys, shoot straight and keep the wind to your face. Hope to see some more "Dream Team" points on the board this weekend. I'll be online to start hunting maybe Sun but fo sho on Mon.
My buddy and I accidentally bayed and caught a 110-120 # boarhog this morning as we were packing up to come home from Madison Co. Let a 10 month old plott hound x black mouth cur puppy and a finished Florida cur (my puppy's bitch) out of the box to piss and whatnot before the long ride home and they must have winded something earlier, cause they bolted as soon as I let them out of the box and had one stopped about 600-700 yards away in about ten minutes. Cut the catch dog loose from camp, and she ran right to the bay and we hopped on the ATV, got there and they had it caught in a recent clear cut. Finally got to kill something with my Super Blackhawk, as neither of us grabbed a knife or rope. I think it took longer to figure out how to shoot it without killing a dog than it did to do anything.
Good thing the hog didn't have real sharp cutters, as my buddy's catchdog caught it from the front, but it grabbed the hog by it's shoulder instead of the snout or ear. She got a few pokes, but nothing bad. Every hog I've seen this dog catch has been by the ass or the leg....I just don't see her living through this season. Coulda been a bad day, as we didn't have tracking collars or cut collars or vests on any of the dogs (we weren't trying to hog hunt lol).
Sadly, no points for the Dream Team cause I left my puppy at home and I had no dog in the fight, was thinking she might be going into her first heat soon and not wanting to deal with all that while in the woods, but we ended up only bringing female dogs anyways :hammer .
My buddy nailed a doe, but neither of us saw any horns. I had two nice turkeys not five yards from my little makeshift groundblind I had set up, might have to smoke one of them come fall turkey season. :archer One of them is an old tom turkey with a nice beard on him. No one seems to turkey hunt up there, fall or spring.
