no thanks, too high. as a youth I used to climb water and radio towers mtn's anything around I could find, but vertigo and older/wiser and fat azz has given me a healthy respect for gravity. Ive cared for several quad pt's with broken necks resulting from minor falls/ shallow swimming pools etc.

Funny, I feel more safe in a climber than anything else. I guess the key for me is I triple check everything, then check everything again and just take my time. I wear my safety harness and tether it to the tree while climbing up/down. And never get in a hurry. I feel as safe 30' up as I do sitting on my couch right now.
And I refuse to sit in a lock on stand. Go figure

I'm not too sure about lock-on stands either. I guess if they are put up correctly, they are safe, but most of them are attached with chains, and you can hardly ever get the chain tight enough so that the stand doesn't move. No thanks. I'll stick with my ladders, Ole Man grand vision, and my tree lounge. I've never had one move on the tree yet.

Are they all from camp misery?

Yes they are. I couldn't find a better place for the ladder stand as I was very limited in choices as it's just a small hardwood head that's possibly a quarter acre in size surrounded by pines. If you guys are familar with cow creek grade (the main road to hickory mound wma) it's around 75 yds off that road lol! I have more sucess hunting in overlooked areas adjacent to the highway and other roads. I also already knew there were plenty of deer and a few bucks left around in this block, as we jumped a few in this block last year while running dogs. We don't run here much so I doubt mind bow and muzzleoader hunting this area. 2 yrs ago I missed a good 8pt chasing a doe across cow creek in this same area also.

I don't like high stands for bow hunting as I hate standing up and shooting out of them. I will be sitting down to shoot out of this stand. I'm a little better shot while sitting down so I don't mind it at all. My dad and brother prefer climbers but I love my ladders. my climber was collecting dust for 2 yrs so I let my brother use it.
