Hey,

Myself and 3 of my buddies will be on the island for the hunt in Jan. Will you be using bow or muzzle loader? Any tips or insight you might have would be helpful. Tree stand or ground blind or stalking? We are all interested in deer and hog.

Welcome halligan017 feel free to go over to the new member area and tell us about yuorself. :toast

Be ready to walk 2-3 miles every morning to get to your stand..We always hunted the 3 mile area and did well back 10 years ago..My dad hunted the 1st hunt ever on the island..He said it was amazing the amount of game..it is not that good anymore...

HF is right about the walking. We'll be using mountain bikes to get around but the sugar sand makes it tough in some spots. I'll pull a game cart to put my climber out the day before and leave it there till we're done. Muzzleloader for me. You can stalk after 10 am till 3 pm I think. I haven't hunted it yet but scouted last year and had to miss the hunt. If you can I would head over to scout it out before hand. We'll be taking our boats over and will be staying on the back side. Good luck with it and maybe we'll see ya over there.
